First off, for all who celebrate, Happy Easter!
…and for all who don’t, happy weekend!
May your Easter be filled with lots of candy, family, and delicious food.
This Easter weekend will mean a lot more to my little family than it typically would.
We will still chow down on pizza rustica and scavenge for dozens of plastic eggs.
We will still trade decorated eggs and wake up to gnawed on carrots.
We will open Easter baskets and sing Little Bunny Foo Foo.
Our traditions will remain the same, but this weekend will always be especially remembered.
On Easter Vigil (Saturday), my future husband will be baptized, receive communion, and be confirmed.
For the past nine months, him and I have been attending weekly RCIA classes.
We have been studying the bible, attending mass, and joining discussions.
In other words, he really worked hard and is very proud that this day has come!
He was raised a Catholic, but he was never baptized.
Our wedding was the final shove to do the thing he always intended to do.
Words cannot express how proud I am of him and how honored I am to be his sponsor.
I never thought this experience would be as rewarding as it has been.
While we may not attend mass every week or agree with all Catholic stances, we will have faith.
My daughter, and my future children, will be raised with that same faith.
I hope to continue our involvement in the church and grow with the community.
Who would have thought my man would be texting a priest that he considers a friend? Not I!!!!
Here's a sincere CONGRATULATIONS from Mushy and I.
We can’t wait to be a part of your big night and cheer you on. We love you!
