Hot & Cold

Happy Monday everyone!!  How was your Sunday Funday???  Please tell me that you watched the Patriots vs. Ravens game?!  Talk about heart palpitations!!  I'm used to yelling and swinging punches, but this time I was jumping up and taking nervous strolls around a coffee table!!  That was an EXTREMELY close game, but we pulled through in the end.  While I'm sure that we won because of all the good luck paraphernalia I wore, I have to give the game to Moore knocking the ball out of the Raven's claws in the last 20 seconds of the game.  I'm sorry?  What was that about the Patriot's defense?  Exactly...  So in celebration of the New England Patriots making it into the Superbowl, here are some sexy pictures of my future boy toy, Aaron Hernandez.  Enjoy!!

Other than my Pat's victory, college classes starting up again, and me setting a wooden spoon on fire - What?  Explain?  I spilled some oil into the bottom part of my oven.  So the genius in my head said to "make the oven 450 degrees so the oil would melt.  Then take a wooden spoon and scrape the oil off."  Turns out this was an awful idea considering the spoon hit the coil, went on fire, and melted some of the skin off my finger.  Sigh...  -, Long Island had it's first snow fall of the season!  Growing up I hated the cold and the snow.  I've never even gone skiing or snowboarding or anything before.  Snow is wet, cold, and makes TheLoveBug drive down the street worse than a sled going down a hill.  While that is all still true, I'm slowly becoming a fan of this colder weather.

1.  Hair.  My hair is the reason for 95% of all my life decisions.  Don't deny it ladies!  You know it's true!!  I go through hell for straight hair.  The cold weather eliminates humidity zapping any sign frizz from my natural curly hair.

2.  Skin.  My skin is tighter in the winter.  My pores are also invisible.  The annoying shine on my face vanishes as well.  Oily skin is the Sicilian curse!!

3.  Scarves.  I love them.  They keep my neck warm.  Enough said.

4.  Crowds.  Restaurants, stores, parking lots and just about every else is much less crowded.  The cold keeps people home.  Imagine only 2 people in front of you in the Starbucks line all year round!  Amazing...

5.  Landscape.  While everyone may hate snow for the own reasons, no one can deny that it's gorgeous to look at.

6.  Reb'l Fleur.  The Winter time is the perfect season to rock Rihanna's perfume.  I loveee this perfume!

7.  Snuggie.  Winter is cuddle time.  Bust out that Snuggie!!  Remember when I introduced Snug Jones here?

8.  Baggy Sweaters.  Everyone always teases me that it's my signature look.  I love baggy sweaters that only cover one shoulder.  Plus, it gives you room for that second red velvet cheesecake brownie.  Yum!!

9.  Body Butter.  Dry skin calls for slabs of White Chocolate body butter.  Smooth skin and smelling delicious?  Yes, Please!!

10.  Heat.  No, not in your house!  The use of the heat in your car does not guzzle all your gas like putting on your AC.  See, the cold weather saves you money!!

What's do you love or hate about the Winter??

  1. Congrats to your Pats. It was a nail-biter, and sorry for the Ravens that the loss came down to one guy and a bad kick.

I feel sorry for you hating snow and ice and living in that area for so long. At least I lived in warmer parts of the US for most I my life and have only tortured myself for the past several years with winters in the NE.

  2. I am a big polar bear so I prefer the cold to the hot. I can always get warm but can't always get cool. I can always BE cool but that is another conversation entirely.

  3. I like bundling up, but I hate bundling up too. It's better to bundle up at home in front of the fireplace with a nice cup of hot chocolate instead of having to bundle up to go outside. YUCK.

What I love about winter is sitting in front of the TV in front of the football game watching my niners lose. :-( Sorry, but it still hurts. They were SO. CLOSE.

And in a random side glance at your blog, I happened to notice that you included me in your sidebar. I'm very honored that you think so highly of me that you'd include me in your list of things to read. Thank you. :-)

  4. I'm sorry about your 49ers! That's the thing about the Giants, they have dumb luck. How about last week? Manning only won b/c of a Hail Mary.. A HAIL MARY!! lol

  5. I love snow! I cannot get enough of it. To me, a terrible day can turn into a great one with just a little bit of snow. Heck, here's my reaction to when it snowed last year:

  6. I love the snow when it means college and work is shut! it is good to look at too, although can be annoying when sports events get called off because of it! also you said you don't know anything about UFC but the pictures of the guy you posted look a lot like nate diaz! haha

  12. I'm a southern girl all the way. I admit that the white stuff is pretty when it first falls, but I'm not in a hurry to see any of it anymore.

  13. Thanks for the boy toy pics. Monday just got better looking. Winter, hmmmm. Two things I hate most 1. the dangerous road conditions and 2. the expense of heating my house. It's pretty to look at and I'd like it better if it only lasted 2 months.

  14. Yeah the driving is what truly makes it garabage, with all those idiots out there who think "snow, must go faster," morons.

I hate the snow though, screw skiing, you can do that nice and warm on water, but then sharks might get you, but the hill could break your neck. So screwed either way, just best to avoid that...lol

And all that other crap can take a hike too, although hate humid heat too. I'm just fussy. But yeah the cuddle issue is better in the winter, but that doesn't apply right now. So boo to winter! End rant!

  15. I LOVE my Snuggie. I hate winter skin. I have to use a sugar scrub and four different moisturizers in winter. I can not stand dry skin. Mine doesn't get so oily in summer so I much prefer my summer skin.

  19. In the winter time it rains here (usually non-stop) and nobody can figure out how to drive in it. It usually takes me about 1.5 hours to get home from work in it.

However, I do love boots and scarves and warm fires:)

  20. Great list, especially as I might be getting the winter blues. I hate how it's dark all the time, but I must say that I love how forgiving winter clothes are.

  21. Yesterday's games were so great, both of them! I'm pretty sure my rooting for the Ravens worked pretty well. :)

What do *I* love about the winter? Can't really say that I enjoy wearing Rihanna's perfume, personally. LOL.

I guess I love skiing, and hot
chocolate, and stepping on thin ice and hearing it crunch under your feet. Oh, and seeing animal footprints in the snow.

  22. As a recent Californian, I am loving the sunshine virtually all year round, but a small part of me misses the cold and the rain of England. There's nothing quite like snuggling up in front of a roaring open fire with your loved one. And I LOVE snow. Sledging and walking and snow fairies. Makes me feel like a child again. Sadly no snow where I live without driving to Tahoe.

  23. Funny, I was just wondering why my skin was relatively zit free lately. Mystery solved.

  24. I love winter, but hate the dry skin it causes. I need to try some White Chocolate body butter ;)

  26. Reluctant congratulations to your Pats... but Hernandez is definitely pretty hot.

That's funny and scary about the spoon! haha, that sounds like an idea I would have as well, I'm glad you're okay!

ha- sounds like you found some great reasons to appreciate the snow :) I like the skin is tight one, haha, that's how I feel about tanning (even though I don't go anymore) and miss it so much.

I think snow is beautiful, I love having it at least a week every year.

  27. Love winter because I burn so fast in hot and humid weather.

  28. I hate how the cold air and heaters dry out my skin, (I apply handlotion about every thirty minutes) but I love the zero humidity! My hair is always at it's best in the winter :-)

  30. Personally I'm a spring and fall girl. My two favorites. I love a nice soft sweater too. I'm weird though it's all about the texture. As for Veggie tales.... it's hilarious!

  32. I love the dark mornings when I don't have to get up early and I could just snuggle under the duvet. So cosy!!

I don't like driving in the snow, but it's so beautiful to look at.It's even better when they close the college where I teach because of the snow, and I don't have to go to work :-)
